This bronze is an iconic image that Mane-Katz is remembered for. It is called the \" MATCH MAKER\". During the time of life on the Shtetl in Eastern Europe and Russia, many of the Hassidic marriages were arranged by the Matchmaker. Even today, there is a Jewish tradition of matchmaking. There is a wonderful story behind this bronze. Mane-Katz donated a series of bronzes that he had cast in Rome, Italy. He donated them to the Israeli Zahal Disabled Veterans Organizaton. He donated the bronzes in the early 60\'s to be used for sale whenever money was needed. They sat in the Director\'s office for 55 years. I am fortunate enough to own 8. All were picked for me by Tiroche sale House located in Herzliya, Israel. The purchaser of this bronze will receive a letter of authenticity certificate from Tiroche sale House. This bronze is signed by the artist. It is numbered 9 out of 12. It bears the cast mark of \"Fonderia Cavalari Rome\". It measures 13\" high and the base measures 6\" x 4\". I was very happy that my purchase helped enrich the Disabled Israeli Veterans Tzedakah Organization. Guaranteed authentic and reasonably priced.
