and early 1950s,then operated his namesake potteryinCulver City,California from 1953through the early 1960s.He was known fora distinctly modern look featuring elongated,stylized depictions of native island people.
Giftwares, a leading ceramics trade publication,listed him as one of the top ten artware designersof the late 1950s.
His pieces are rare and in great demand today.
Condition:The shade has several issues.One of the support arms has detached from the rim,but it\'s not noticeable while on the lamp.The fabric has some cosmetic issues.Some paint has peeled from the support arms and finial.
Some of the brass at the top of the lamp has corroded,and there are a few slits around the base of the lamp.There are no chips or scratches anywhere on theceramic body of the lamp, and the diffuseris likewise in very good shape.
