Marianske Lazne, Czechoslovakia Liberation Pamphlet 1945:
$35.00

When the American Army liberated Czechoslovakia, in 1945, six months later this pamphlet was printed for presentation to the US Army. It is a resort/spa city where historic mineral springs were located and today has over 125 hotels to visit to take in the waters. The town, as a spa, was founded 200 years ago, but the area settled by German peasants in the 12th century after Bohemian rulers opened it to settlement. The springs first written account occured in 1341 when the Tepi Abbey became known for \"the Auschowitzer springs\". The efforts of Dr. Josef Nehr, the Abbey Physician from 1779 to 1820 established the therapeutic quality of the mineral water and the city named Marienbad was established. This is the only pamphlet of its kind from this location that I have seen, so I will rate it as a Rare find. Great history here.
