When it first opened in 1976, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Ill., was actually called Marriott\'s Great Adventure and was owned by the worldwide hotel chain until 1984.
Up for sale today is an amazing vintage treasure.
We have a Marriott\'s Great America collector\'s plate - 6.75 inches in diameter.The graphic showsthe famous Great America double-decker carousel in the center, trees, entrance wall and the faint hint of trolly tracks in the roadway.
Around the outside of the plate are scalloped edges with two rings of gold paint.
The back of the plate has factory drilled holes for hanging (this plate was meant to be displayed, not used for food) and the original red foiled \"JAPAN\" sticker.
