This is a set of eleven Masonic Fraternal Organization ceremonial medallions, which are genuine antique memorabilia, probably from 1850 to 1870 - possibly earlier. Judging by the latches on the box, which is velvet lined, you might be able to figure the approximate age of the entire package.I have owned this item for, almost, sixty years. I bought it in an estate sale in Palm Beach, Florida. I paid a solid price for the set. It, supposedly, was one hundred+ years old, at that time. There were other Masonic items, but nothing to compare to this.I can\'t tell if the silver is sterling, but there is no chipping or flaking. I assumed that it was sterling, but I don\'t want you to think that it is . I\'ve never had it checked, or appraised. The quality of the metal is excellent. The cloth, on each medal, is faded, but intact - and not raggedy. The box is in phenomenal condition with the three hinges, on the back, which work like new. The two latches on the front are in absolutely great condition, and work like new. They are very old, but seem like new. The box closes squarely, and is very solid.The medals are intriguing.
