For sale is an incredible, massive estate stamp collection of Postal Commemorative Society portfolios. There are 7 beautiful portfolios in total, housing 476 covers.
Breakdown of items:
The 4 brown portfolios of Golden Replicas of United States Stamps contain a total of 247 covers. each cover bearing the first day of issue postmarkover the new stamp. Each cover is also magnificently adorned with a22kt gold replica of the aforementionedstamp issued on said date. There is a wide range of subject matter in these covers, from birds to sports, circus to lighthouses, space to historic figures. Far too many to list. The large blue portfolio titled \"Golden Replicas of U.S. Classic Stamps \" contains 100 covers. These covers DO NOT contain the real stamp (most likely due to the extreme rarity and value of the portrayed stamps), only a printed photograph of it along with its 22kt gold replica counterpart.The smallest portfolio (blue) houses the 22kt gold replicas from the 1938 presidential series covers. These covers DO includethe mint condition, non-postmarked,unused, encased, original United States stamp that the replica replicates. This set contains 29 covers.The final portfolio contains the extremely sought after Great Americans on United States Stamps collection. This wonderful show piece of a portfolio contains 100 covers total. Each cover shows a different significant figure in American history along with a mint, unused, non-postmarked, encased United States stamp to go along with the 22kt gold replica. The stamps rage from the 1920\'s - the 1980\'s. Between all 7 of these unbelievable portfolios is an extensive amount of documentation. Documents include the acceptance papersfor the Postal Commemorative Society member, paperwork describing different shipments of covers and completions of certain portfolios, hand written, by the member, notes cataloging him obtaining certain covers, dates of cover set completion, care instructions for the portfolios, etc. This amazing estate collection was not just someone who dabbled in stamps mishmash of random stamps. This is a well organized, incredibly well kept collection belonging to an experienced philatelist.
