Mattel, Inc. Stock No. 633, circa 1958-63. EMPTY CARDBOARD BOX. Measures approx. 7-1/2” X 7” X 5”.

This dealer store display box is marked \"New! Stick-Em On Peel-Em Off” and “For Mattel And Other Cap Guns”. This box originally held 4 dozen (48) boxes of Stock No. 633 - 1/4\" X 2 X 1/2\" green boxes that each contained 2 sheets of 60 caps each (120 caps per box). These are known as the “small” boxes. Box is dated “1958” but Shootin’ Shell guns weren’t introduced until 1959 and this style box was sold from then through the mid 1960s. Yes, these are the ones that go on the back of Shootin\' Shell bullets that were used in the Shootin’ Shell Fanner and Shootin’ Shell .45 pistols, as well as the Indian Scout Rifle, Colt 6-Shooter Rifle, Winchester Shootin’ Shell Carbine and Potshot/Buckle Derringer.

This box has a die-cut cover that can be bent back to make a display. The perforation has NOT been punched out to be folded back. Box is in very good condition with some minor scuffs, a small yellowed stain on one side of the bottom (see photos) and minor discoloration of the white on the front panel but no rips, tears, stains or repairs. A “20” is written in pen in the circle on the lower right side of the cover (probably the original store price). Overall, a clean and crisp box.

This box will make a great addition to any Shootin’ Shell Fanner, Mattel or Western Toy Gun display.
