ITEM DESCRIPTION: Japanese Nippon Cloisonne Porcelain Tea or Wine Pot (Teapot), with dragon handle, ling zhi (reishi mushrooms) (plant of longevity) finial, signed Dai Nippon Kanzan Sei, signature mark for the artist Kanzan Denshichi.

According to Augustus Franks, Japanese Pottery (1880) - Kanzan Denshichi \"invented a manner of representing in porcelain, iron inlaid with gold\". This item is an example of \"iron inlaid with gold\" in porcelain, otherwise known as cloisonne in porcelain.

ITEM DATING: Meiji era.

ITEM MEASUREMENTS (Approximate): 5\"L x 3.25\"H.

ITEM CONDITION:Signs of wear; pits in surface; aging noted in porcelain surface and silver wiring; wear to enamel decorations due to handling and age; damage to lid; wear/missing/fleabite chip to blue enamel in lower corner. There are no other chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Item is in good condition and sold-as-is, no returns.
