This is an awesome civil war letter written by Merrill Boomer of the 13th Illinois Infantry. He addresses his sister Cornelia as Nellie which is her nickname. Four pages. He tells about being on guard duty every 3 days. He describes their cabins. He wonders if their brother Charles in the7th Kansas Cavalry has been in the battle of Corinth. Sadly Merrill dies in a hospital in December 1863. A very nice addition for any Illinois civil war, 13th Infantry collection or Kendall County Collector. It includes the cover to Wheaton College.
