Used materials: colorless priming, paints, lacquer(for interior work, harmless/innocent).

The other (working) side isn\'t processed (it\'s clean,without any coating).

I work in old russian (slavic) style. This style hasname “Mezen painting”.

I\'m one of the few who are trying to revive this artin original form (that is “how it was”, without modernism) and to tell theworld about this beautiful painting style “Mezen”. I have a deep knowledge ofthe old russian symbols which are used in Mezen style.

Painted wooden spinning wheels and utensils originatedduring the formation of the Slavic tribes. It got this name from the riverMezen in the Arkhangelsk region. Its peak the fishery reached in the nineteenthcentury.

The center of the Mezen painting became the village ofPalaschelye, hence the second name - palaschelsky painting. Mezen painting isarchaic patterns of her stingy and resemble ancient rock вrawings of the ancient peoples of the North . There usedjust two colors – red and black (our ancestors from this region used red clayavailable near the shors of the Mezen river and chopped coal).

Interesting fact. Researches to see the similaritybetween “Mezen style” and ancient greek “Dipilon style” (the same long-leggedhorses, repeat tracery and solar signs for example).

Each drawing in the Mezen style has the whole story(another feature of Mezen style). There are so much solar signs and other signs in Mezenstyle. So much suns (small and big for example), ancient slavic worshiped thesun. Or sign of fertility which is also a talisman for women who can’t getpregnant or old Slavic sign “Lelya” for little girls from 3 y.o. till the ageof a bride (this sign gives charm, tenderness; it gives confidence for timidchild or it gives softness for rude child). I can tell you for a long timeabout traditions of ancient slavs and about “Mezen style”, but , I hope, you’vegot now interest about “Mezen style” of ancient Russian people.

I work just on wood (no glass or other material),because, at first, our ancestors worked just on wood, and, the second, image comesto life just on the wood.
