Original ModernMates birch wood desk by Conant Ball Furniture Makers, circa 1950\'s. The clean lines are characteristic of Danish Modern designs. Conant Ball was a very progressive fine furniture maker that used designers such as Russel Wright. Leslie Diamond was the probable designer of this desk in the 1950\'s. The desk measures about 36\" wide x 15 1/4\" deep x 29\" tall. The wood appears to be birch wood with a blonde / honey color. The left side of the desk has a large single drawer with a divided drawer on the right side. Solid and high quality construction. The original finish has been cleaned and hand waxed. There may be light scratches and wear from normal use and age. The top may have had a blotter used on the surface at some point. This observation is addressed due to some very light sun fading as pictured. This possible fading is very light and does not distract from the appearance. Excellent designer piece for use as a desk, table, kitchen island or foyer sofa table. Shipping may be by UPS or Greyhound Express. Prior to purchase please email zip code for a quote.
