by someone with a real skill for design. The geometrical body,
use of color and the forms here are classic mid century design
elements and goals. This lamp floats over a surface on three
widely set, oversize wrought iron hair pin legs. The body is
an unusual shade of orange that is exclusive to this period -
like the hue of a pumpkin on Halloween with a candle inside!The body appears much like an early plastic,
and the color appears to be blended into the material, but it
is cold to the touch like metal. If it is metal, it is amazing the lack of
chips or scratches. The orange body is nearly flawless.
It is framed top and bottom with brass accents.
It all works well together and creates great visual contrasts!
It appears like a rocket on the gantry, poised to
take off for Mars. A sensational mid century design!Excellent condition. Some light wear to the hair pin legs and
tarnish to the brass surfaces. The lamp works perfectly and has a
black enameled finial securing a \'rice\' paper type shade.
This lamp looks simply marvelous.
