Here is a fabulous oldMILLSauthentic all mechanical5 cent slot machine.This is how we collectors love to find them!! You won\'t be disappointed in this marvelous piece of authentic AMERICANA.PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION OR REFURBISHED SLOT MACHINE!!!! This is the original real deal.It dates back to1934and is known as the \"MILLSFIREBIRD or THUNDERBIRDSLOT MACHINE\" to collectors. It is also commonly referred to as a \"21 STARQT SLOT MACHINE\". Except that this guy only has 20 stars in the front castingrather than the more common 21 stars. According to Robert Geddes who was the author of the Mills QT Manual, the \"20 star QT slots\" are RELATIVELY RARE versus the usually seen more common21star variety and may have served as prototypes for the 21 star models.
What\'s particularly interesting about this collectible is that this is one of the very first antique slot machines I ever purchased. I bought it from a famous Texas collector at the Loose Change Funfair Show in the early 1980\'s held in Pasadena, California. It\'s never been restored as far as I can tell except that the reel tapes with the iron cross symbols weremost likelyreplaced prior to me buying it,and I\'m not sure when thewood casewas painted black. Over theyears I\'ve seen many of theseQT slots with these black painted cases.This was some 35 years ago, and back then very few people were restoring these QT\'sbecause they didn\'t haveto. As old slots ended up in collections, the ones coming up for sale were eventually in such lousy shape that they had to be restored to be presentable. Anyway I\'ve had thisguy for well over 30 years,and never had to do a thing to it. It plays and pays properly and was most likelyshopped out mechanically prior to my first buying it. It has its original back door, original front Mills lock and key (although the key is the typicalserpentine shaped key for this lock, someone used a shiny new looking key blank and it fits this oldMills lock properly- see photos), an old FortCo. lock and key for the back door,reel tapes and a paper award cardthat were probablyreplaced many years ago,a metal cash boxetc., etc. It\'s serial number is an early9714. TheseMills QTModel Slots are not considered particularlyrare, yet they are very popular because of their nice small size, double self-filling alternatingjackpots, great appearance, and their quick fun play. Thisold timer shows it\'s authentic agewell!! It\'s probably been cycled millions of times and is good to go for a few more million pulls. What stories it could tell over it\'s 80+year history!! And once again it hasn\'tmissed a beat or worked anything but perfect for the 35 years or soI\'ve had it in my collection.Here\'s an antique investment that you can play withand enjoy for many more years!!
