Created in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Patron of Art series, this pen honors the first recorded patron in the history of art and culture, Gaius Maecenas. Maecenas, whose name is synonymous with patronage, represents cultural responsibility and selfless commitment to the propagation of art. This stately pen, modeled on classical lines, is crafted of precious marble, with cap and endpiece in 18 karat solid gold. The cap is engraved with the first line of an ode to Maecenas by Horace, and the endpiece is inlaid with a replica of an ancient Roman coin bearing his image.Medium 18K gold nib engraved withlaurel wreath motif.Only 888 creations made for the entire world.This is number 298/888
