Made in Germany 1955-59. My favorite size pen. Perfect balance in the hand when writing. This one has a fantastic FULL Flex Nib. A real Joy to write with.These early 146 examples represent the history of Montblanc as we see it today in many ways. The modern 146, 149, 144 and Classique etc that make up Montblancs biggest market share all started with this pen. The design has changed very little over the 65 years. The Clip, Rings, Streamline Body and Cap Shape were all launched first on these 50s models. This example works perfect like when new. ULTRA Rare.... Fills to the brim. Holds an enormous amount of ink. I love the Orange Amber Line window these have for viewing your ink reserve inside the barrel. Wonderful pens... Very handsome. Understated yet elegant. Timeless design.

The pen has no Cracks, Splits, Repairs, Dents, Scratches or Bite marks etc.. The Whole pen is Celluloid. The clip and Rings are Yellow Gold plated with only the usual patina expected of this age. The Caps end Star Logo is the wonderful off white or Ivory colour unique to these 50s examples. The End Cap is stamped 146 and O. (146 = Model.O =Oblique Line Nib.)

The original 14C Ob FULL Flex Nib is for theconnoisseur. Perfect Iridium tips. This really is as good as these rare nibs EVER come. Unique to 1950s Montblanc. These nibs are regarded by EVERYONE as the best ever made by Montblanc. This superstar nib writes with a super smooth Fine to Medium Fine line at normal pressure. It has flat Iridium tips so has Extra Fine side stroke. The tips are also angled (oblique) for people who tilt their pen whilst writing. Nothing to fear as I write normal and find these Oblique nibs great fun. Once you hit the sweet spot they are pure silk all the way. Beautiful writer even at normal pressure. Very elegant. However it is the Flexibility this nib has that makes it so special. This one can flex from Fineto Triple Broad on the Down stroke when varying levels of pressure are applied. Amazing writer. Full of personality and spring. A true treasure. Userfriendlycontrolled flex as well. The best. Also the early FULL Line fat feed is a masterpiece. These replaced the flat slope feeds in 1955-56. Regarded by many as the greatest feed Montblanc ever made. These have perfect ink flow even when in full flex.

Montblanc stopped making flex nibs in the 1960s. You can not buy ANY modern Montblanc that writes even a tenth as well as this 65 year old original. It is thepinnacleof Montblanc design.
