Mother Of The Bride: A Charm For Your Daughter's Dress For Sale
"Something old, Something new,Something borrowed, and Something blue;
A lifetime of love I wish for you!"
When my daughter got married in 2008, I wrote her a poem to express my love and what the traditional "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed,Something Blue" means to me. I fashioned a charm for her to pin under the hem of her dress, and then I presented the charm and the verse to her the evening before her wedding.
You will touch your daughter's heart on her wedding day with thistraditional gift of love for the bride. She willadore thedainty charms, tiedin a bow,to pinto the hem of her slip or dress (or in her bouquet) as she walks down the aisle to take her vows. The charmsrepresent a "lifetime of love",which is explainedeloquently in thetrifold cardwith this original verse:
Two little charms I bring today,
Two symbols of love for your wedding day.
The pearl, borrowed from the sea,
Timeless and true;
A reminder of my love for you.
The heart, hopeful and pure,
Precious and new;
A symbol of love shared by two.
Two little charms tied in a bow,
To tuck away (so they won't show);
Something old, something new,
Something borrowed and something blue...
A lifetime of love I wish for you!
