This is a Muramatsu M21 model, probably one of the last flutes to be made in the old Tokyo factory before they moved to Tokorozawa.

It is the model before the M95 and then the M120 and now the current EX. It is very similar to the M95/120,

It has a solid silver headjoint and the rest is nickel silver. It has L14 stamped on all three parts but no serial number so dating it is difficult.

It has that nice warm Muramatsu sound and sounds pretty much like the M120,

It has been fully overhauled to give it a new lease of life. It has been completely stripped, cleaned polished washed and rebuilt with every pad/cork and felt being replaced. Along with all that it has had a new set of knock pins, one of the problems with old flutes is they used blue steel pins which are actually quite soft and over time wear cause the mechanism to become sloppy. Which inturngives a notchy feel and causes the keys not close properly and create leaks. This one has a had a new set of stainless pins fitted as supplied by Muramatsu along with the set of pads. Some of the rebuild can be seen on my face book page it`s age it is in very good condition,there were no dents,very little key fitting was required and the foot and headjoint neededonly fineadjustments. It does have some scratching due to normal wear and tear but nothing serious.

It comes with it`s original case, cleaning rod and a carry bag.
