Offered is an incredible antique hardstone agate cameo brooch pendant. This piece features a very large and heavy carved agate cameo of the goddess Flora. She has tumbling curls adorned with roses and leaves, and wears a necklace and earring. Hardstone cameos this size are very rare, and this is one of the finest I\'ve ever seen and it is not likely I will ever handle a similar piece again. It is set in a 14k gold casing (not marked but tested) and fitted with a folding bale for use as a pendant as well as a brooch. The setting is embellished with 28 pearls of graduating size. It has the original Victorian c clasp and t hinge. The carving has amazing depth and relief, measuring 1/2\" thick at the highest part. The cameo is 1 7/8\" long, in the setting it measures 2 1/4\" long. It weighs 46.9 grams. The craftsmanship in this piece is outstanding, and it would make a spectacular gift or addition to any fine jewelry or cameo collection. It is in amazing condition for it\'s age, the only notable flaw being that one of the tiny screws affixing the pendant to the brooch is chipped, but secure.
