This is natural Morenci Turquoise.The color is like a brilliant blue Arizona sky with light clouds. There are a few tiny flecks of silver colored iron pyrite in the center of the stone.

The Morenci cabochon in this bracelet measures a whopping 44mm x 38mm (1 3/4\" by 1 1/2\").The interior circumference of the bracelet including the opening is 7 inches, or about 172 mm. It is stamped on the back \"MT\" which stands for Sacred Mountain Smiths.

The bracelet weighs over 93 grams. You would have to pay about $500 today for a Morenci Turquoise cabochon of this size and quality. This bracelet is for a true collector of fine, vintage turquoise jewelry.

It would be rare to find Morenci Turquoise this large any more. It is 100% natural and has been, as customary, lightly backed with aresin to raise the stone out of the bezel when set. It also provides a cushion orshock absorber for the stone.

The Morenci Turquoise Mine was located in Southern Arizona andproduced some of the finest turquoise in America. The mine was a major producer ofnatural gemstones that were used commercially for years in predominatelySouthwestern and Native American Jewelry. The Morenci Turquoise mine was famousfor its beautiful true blue turquoise and by its silver colored iron pyrite matrix. Today this incredibly classic turquoise is hard to find as the mine has been closed to the mining of turquoise since the late1970’s.
