It is based on the RussianUralfolk taleThe Stone FlowerbyPavel Bazhovand is also the last of the trilogy of ballets Prokofiev wrote in theRussian ballettradition. It was premiered posthumously, in 1954, conducted byYuri Fayer.This Unique exquisite hand painted all way around with nineteen characters was painted by famous Russian Artist Olga Shiryaeva.In the beginning of nineties the first two albums of unique Matryoshka dolls, produced since the end of eighties by professional artists, were published. Unlike the mass-produced traditional souvenir matryoshka dolls, this albums featured exceptional art works of the most talented craftsmen, including Olga Shiryaeva. Olga is a graduate of Abramtsevo Art College. She is one of the most famous Matryoshka artists in the world. Her style of painting is the best rendition of the Matryoshka ideal. This style is very decorative, monumental and expressive in its silhouette, as well as being highly-detailed and very professional in its graphics. Olga\'s dolls are special in their own colourfully-drawn style - there is no mistaking her artistry. You can see her great skill and experience in each finished doll. She coats all her dolls with self-mixed matt varnish or lacquer to protect her work. Olga is very busy and there are always new designs in progress at her workshop - when they are completed they leave Russia to join collections all over the world.
