This beautifully hand crafted ring is a size 10 and weighs nine grams .

Richard Begay\'s jewelry is rooted in traditional Navajo designs. Son of a medicine man, this accomplished and respected silversmith said: \"My jewelry is my past and future. It\'s my memories as a child. The colorful sunrise, sunsets; the ceremonies,the people, the land.\"

A master of mosaic and channel inlay, overlay and stamp work, he was among the first to make storyteller bracelets, showing tiny, detailed scenes of traditional Navajo life. His silver work is beautifully detailed, and enlivened by the fine, colorful inlays. One of his concho belts is displayed in the permanent collection of the National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian Institution, in Washington D.C. He was also a composer and recording artist of Navajo music, and nominated for a Grammy.

He lived out on the Navajo land, with livestock and horses, and brings his heritage to life in his work.\"I enjoy creating beautiful things,\" he says.

Sadly, June of 2013 Richard Begay passed away. He was a born in 1943 and was a professional silversmith since the early 1970\'s. During his career Richard won numerous awards.
