NICE U.S. EAGLE HEAD OFFICER SWORD EARLY 19TH CENTURY:
$895.00
This U.S. Eagle Head Officer’s Sword dates circa 1812. It is mounted with a slightly curved blade that measures 29 1/8 inches in length. The blade is a bit stained with light surface oxidation near the tip, nevertheless the lovely floral engravings are visibly present on either side. The beautiful brass guard wears a beaded stirrup and front guard and is crowned with a wonderful eagle head pommel, all remaining in lovely, uncleaned condition with a rich aged vertigris now developed. It wears a very nicely fluted carved bone hilt which has also survived very well and all remains completely sturdy and tight. The leather scabbard is brass fitted and although there is a little age shrinkage and the base fitting is a very old field repair, it does remain healthy in its condition as well and with all the stitching still tightly intact. Overall measuring 34 5/8 inches in length. TO SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS PLEASE SCROLL DOWN. sure to add me to your favorites list!
