for sale here, is my antique native american...indian head money coin savings bank/box....it sits around 90 mm/bit under 4 inches heigh.
metal cast with hand painted finish....probably from continental europe... possibly of german origin,and from around late 1800s into early 1900s.
i\'ve owned this lovely native american bust for nearly 20 years...IT IS NOT A MODERN ITEM...the quality in its expressive face and patination should show this in images.
originally designed as a money box...\"piggy bank\" for coins.....has the opening slot for coins at upper rear..... but just a great decorative ornament.
since owning it has always been missing the small,simple hinged cover plate underneath (see pics)....which would have given access to coinage.
the figure displays great...with expected century old patination/signs of wear,colouration,chips etc...there are also a few stress line/age cracks within the headress feathers....nothing distracting,but i\'ve tried to show in images for accuracy.
the overall design is not too dis-similar to the old american hood ornaments/car mascots that were to appear on the 1920\'s pontiac cars.
