This cuff is a \"Tufa\" cast bracelet.The technique is by cutting the tufa stone in 1/2,the artist draws the design they want to see in the piece of jewelry,close up the other 1/2,pour the metal in and when done,the piece has the design that was drawn.Because the Tufa has texture,it then appears in the metal & takes away the smooth looking feel.
The stone used in this is HIGH GRADE NATURAL & GORGEOUS Deep green,CARICO LAKE from Nevada..Gorgeous earthy brown matrix,unlike what no other mine produces.It has it\'s own identity & once you get to know the different turquoises,it\'s pretty identifiable.The stone measures 13 mm long x 7.5 mm at its widest part.The bracelet is 1/2\" wide that tapers to 3/8\".Weighs 1.17 ounces.Please zoom in on all the photos & check out the \'web\' type design through out the metal,as well as the other detail!!.Saw toothed bezel..Hallmarked \"Sterling Kirk Smith\".It measures 5\" in the interior with a 1\" gap.Comes with a gift box .
Please check out the other 2 bracelets by Kirk at this time plus more quality items I carry here:other items!

How to fit a cuff properly:
*****The best way to get a good fit is to measure a cuff bracelet you already have that fits you well. The total inside circumference is the inside circumference of the bracelet from end to end plus the gap (the distance between the ends)If you don\'t have a cuff bracelet , then measure your wrist where you want to wear the bracelet. Cut a strip of paper approximately 8\" long and as wide as the bracelet you would like to wear. Wrap the paper around your wrist where you would wear the bracelet. You might secure the paper with a piece of tape to get a better feel of the fit. Remove the paper and measure from the end to the mark for the circumference of your wrist. EXAMPLE: If the inside Circumference end to end is 5\" and the Gap is 1\", the total inside Circumference would be 6\" and would be suitable for a wrist approximately 5 3/4\" to 6 1/4\" depending on how tight or loose you like to wear your bracelets.
***Remember the interior does not change,but the gap can be adjusted,either by yourself or your jeweler,depending on the thickness of the gauge. A cuff should not \'roll\' around on your wrist(Too loose),nor should you see flesh hanging over the edge(Too tight) Always put the cuff on above the wrist bone where it is fleshy,then bring it down to wrist.And NEVER \"squeeze\" to tighten!! You will lose the integrity of the metal & if there are stones,they can loosen..Rather,turn your wrist over,push down on one end,push down on the other..My photos play a major role to my description,so please check all out & know your wrist size before purchase,since I do not take pieces back because they do not fit..Please read all measurements,since photos can tend to make items appear larger than actuality.Colors may vary photographically.Also,feel free to ask any questions needed,before hand.I would be more than happy to help!!Thanks!!

ABOUT KIRK:

~~~~~~~Kirk Smith was one of the best Navajo silversmiths around and he had been making quality handmade silver and stone jewelry for decades. His work was always top quality and he used only the best stones and materials. Kirk passed away tragically on September 17, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. He will be deeply missed by Native American Indian jewelry collectors and traders everywhere.
Kirk came from a well known family of silversmiths and he began working with silver as a youngster at his grandfather\'s workshop. He made jewelry off and on until 1980, when he returned to silversmithing full time, learning advanced design from well-known artist and brother-in-law Harry Morgan. He became an acclaimed artist is his own right by consistently creating investment quality old pawn style jewelry. With heavy silver, detailed craftsmanship and beautiful stones, Smith\'s pieces won many awards throughout the years. This talented artist changed his style over the years, but remained true to the traditional heavy silver work of the Navajo. At the time of his death, Kirk had definitely surpassed his mentor, the late Harry Morgan, to become the best practitioner of classic revivalist Navajo motif.~~~
