This attractive, fairly wealthy woman poses with a sense of dignity in spite of an ongoing the Civil War that affects most families. Her image is a heavier-gauge 6th-plate Neff\'s melainotype, the stamp is very visible with a good press into the edge of the plate (as shown).The image is fairly dark and best appreciated in bright light, spots from processing. Her cheeks and are tinted in pink and chain tinted in gold. No attempt was made to clean the actual image. She was acquired mounted in glass and brass mat but without a case.
