This ancestral figure is typical of the type carved by the Murik Lakes people and is notable for its incised designs and extended nose. The latter represents a phallus and is often extended further to join the penis.This work is in excellent condition collected in the 70s. There is a small crack in the base as seen in the photos which is part of the charm of the piece. Its carving style , form and proportion give a very pleasing visual balance.
