Thank you and Happy Holiday Season to All Nice example of the mid 19th century English naval battle cutlass, unmarked but most likely made by Mole as most of these were, retaining around 95% of the original black paint to the large cup guard and ribbed iron grip showing just expected light wear. Mounted with a powerful and very sturdy single edged blade with very light curvature to its length, most of the blade length is flat and unfulered but starting to show a nice central ridge reinforcement towards the tip area. Blade exhibits very nice rich scattered patina with almost no pitting retaining nice smooth surface, it\'s quite thick and sturdy at the spine and is built for most efficient and serious sea battle action, which i am sure it has seen during its service life. Overall solid and intact on this nice and well preserved example.
