Description

A NICE EARLY 19TH CENTURY ROUND SHAKER TYPE PANTRY OR STORAGE BOX WITH ITS ORIGINAL WIRE BALE AND WOOD HANDLE IN GREAT OLD ORIGINAL AND GRUNGY RED PAINT. ALL IN CHESTNUT AND PINE, NEW ENGLAND, CIRCA 1830-1840 STILL RETAINING ITS ORIGINAL IRON BALE AND TURNED WOODEN HANDLE.

GREAT GRUNGY ORIGINAL RED PAINTED SURFACE AND VERY EARLY HAND WROUGHT NAIL CONSTRUCTION.

THE CONDITION OF THIS BOX IS VERY NICE.

THE TOP AND BOTTOM ARE STILL TIGHT.

THE ORIGINAL IRON BALE HANDLE AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL WOODEN HANDLE ARE STILL INTACT.
It has a great old 19th century minor repair to the top inside rim with waxed thread, (see last photo).

9 1/4\" ACROSS, 5\" TALL, 9\" WITH HANDLE

Typical wear and imperfections with age. There are some minor losses and breaks, (see photos). Minor staining and paint wear.
