O & E G Royal Austria Meissen / Dresden Style Floral Cake Plate C. 1898 - 1918.Small porcelain handled cake plate decorated with pink, purple, yellow, blue, and red flowers in the Meissen / Dresden style with scalloped gold gilded edge. Marked O & E. G. Royal Austria with a wreath in green. This mark was used by Oscar and Edgar Gutherz between 1898 and 1918. \"In 1884 Maximilian Marx and Oscar Gutherz established a porcelain decorating factory along the Rohlau River in Altrohlau. The business was financed by Lazarus-Straus. Later the business expanded into making porcelain. In 1898 Edgar Gutherz purchased Marx\'s share of the business. Up to this time, they had an exclusive agreement to market their porcelain under LS&S and their factory mark. In 1899 the factory was able to market their porcelain through importers other than LS&S. Oscar and Edgar Gutherz pieces are dated between 1898 and 1918 when the back stamp mark was changed.\"Has two small chips to the edge, that are hardly noticeable from the front. Some knife marks and wear to the gilding. Still a very pretty plate in a style I\'ve rarely seen from this company.
