Please read full details and look at all photos as Im not exactly sure what I have except for what I have researched. This piece came from a very old Boston Estate collection that was my great grandmothers. She collected Bakelit, Bohemian Garnet and Czech glass so I do believe this piece to be authentic. Maybe someone will find a hidden gem here? Please let me know if you see any errors in my listing!Austro Hungarian sterling silver pendant with garnet and clear stones, no damage. Clear stones have not been tested and do not seem to be a common addition to most Antique Hungarian Garnet Jewelry but this pieces design is consistent with other Hungarian pieces from this time period. I believe this piece to be hand made and it is noticeable in the slight imperfections of saudering and pounding out the details in the metal. It has gorgeous detail throughout with no imperfections except what comes with age. It has a Makers Mark of a bear paw print and what looks to be a faded mark as well. It passes the magnet test and acid test for 800 Silver purity. However, I am not a professional jewel smith so again look closely at my photos. Further research indicates the clear stones are likely quartz as they are the most commonly used clear stone for that period. I can see in texture and hue as well as cuts to the stones that these could indeed be quartz, a stone I use often in my own jewelry.
