This is authenticold (Early toMid1900s ) Africanhand woven EWEKENTE ( Volta Region ) cloth from Ghana.

This is a\" Woman size \" cloth and measures 82\" (209cm) x50 1/4\" (128 cm) .

The cloth is decorated with nice Square blocks of weft float of different colors.

The cloth is invery goodconditionwithminorstains and wear due to usage and age. Please see photos.

Kente is an EWE ( Ghana - Volta Region ) Ceremonial cloth that is hand woven on a horizontal treadle loom.

The stripes are sewn together into larger pieces of cloths.

It takes from several weeks to months for a weaver to complete a cloth like this depending of the design and size !!!

Kente is more than just a cloth but is a visual representation of history, ethics , oral literature , philosophy , moral values and religious beliefs.

The Kente cloths history goes back to the 17th Century.

In present days is still used as a cloth in Ghana but is also used by collectors of fine woven cloths and artifacts as Wall hanging , sofa or bed covering !!!!!!
