OLD VINTAGE 1970s JAPAN METAL BRASS TURTLE NOVELTY WACO TRANSISTOR RADIO - WORKS:

This is a vintage transistor radio, in the shape of a tortoise or turtle. It is fairly heavy, as the entire top half (including the all 4 legs, the tail, head and top of his shell) are made of brass. (Could possibly be some other type of metal, with a brass surface plating.) The black bottom section is made of hard plastic. The underside is marked; \"WACO...PRODUCT OF JAPAN.\" It runs on a single 9-Volt battery. It still works. Like most of these older transistor radios, I picked up mostly static, but I was able to get one station very clearly, and another one came in faintly. From nose to tail, it measures 8 & 1/4 inches long. His front feet (\"wingspan\") are about 6 inches apart, from toe to toe. It is very clean, and displays nicely. About the only flaw, is some wear to the green felt on his hat. This item is guaranteed to be old & original - probably made sometime between the 1960\'s and 1980\'s - or your money back.
