Silvered raised baton dial with Arabic numerals at the quarters, with gold hands and sapphette glass.Integral Milanese bracelet with a brilliant cut diamond, claw set at each lug position.A ladder clasp with Florentine finish and concealed safety catch.
French poincon for 18ct gold. Entire weght is approx. 33 grams.
Entire length measures approx. at 17.5cms. At 2 settings on the clasp can fit from under 6\" and up to to 6.75\" inch wrist.Being a bracelet watch it can be worn loose or tight.Case no. 458.689 Mechanical Hand winding Calibre 580. Omega Text DescriptionThe SapphettesFirst tested Christmas 1954 in America, this small lady\'s watch, named \"Sapphette\" (spelled Saphette in French), was such a success it was launched worldwide the next year. The watches were a global hit and remained firm favourites for almost three decades. Derived from \"sapphire\", the name refers to the watches\' sparkling crystal which lends it such a unique look. Facetted like a solitaire diamond, the crystal is cut sapphire - the hardest stone after diamond - it is scratch-resistant, unbreakable and everlastingly clear . . . everlastingly since the facets are cut on the dial side, protecting them evermore. To accentuate their sparkle, the creators developed a system of reflectors placed under this facetted zone: this is inclined to reflect the light to the crystal\'s facets. This flange acts in the same way as the reflective layer of cut crystal tableware.
