FANTASTIC, ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN DIARY FROM OREGON, GRANTS PASS, MEDFORD, ROGUE RIVER. OUR DIARIST IS A WOMANIZER, BEER (SCHLITZ) DELIVERY MAN, HEAVY DRINKER, LIVES AT HOME WITH MOM AND APPEARS TO HAVE LITTLE OR NO RESPONSIBILITIES AT THE AGE OF 30. This hand printed diary is extremely easy to read as he prints in a very legible, crisp and clean manner. Our diarist lives a life of driving a beer delivery truck, working in a beer warehouse where he unloads cars (railroad cars) of empty beer cans, delivers huge amounts of beer to several places, even as far away as San Francisco, has a girlfriend whom he cheats on often, and does more than his fair share of heavy drinking, with hangovers that set him back a day or two. He is a bounder, spends a lot of time at bars/lounges, has a ton of friends, loves to party, go fishing, camping, drinks at the Red Barn, Dardinells, Mon Desire, Rogue River Lodge, Ashland Elks Club, Rogue View Inn, etc., and his steady girlfriend Jackie, (whom he cheats on with Lorraine, Jean, Madeline, Bumpy, &c) keeps \"pestering me to get married,\" but she has kids and he does not want to go there.
On August 9, 1951, it is his birthday and he is 30 years old. His mom gives him a party and a few of his friends come, and he is thrilled. Jackie gave him a sleeping bag and away they go camping along the Applegate River, without a care in the world, just drinking his way through a number of days. At the top of numerous pages he has put an x, and on several pages he surrounds that x with a circle. Because we have been doing diaries for many years when there is an x at the top of the page that usually indicates that the person has slept with someone and has had sex. It appears that our guy lived in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Handwritten entries include:\"January 20, Went to town. Saw Lorraine and Jean. Came home and slept. It was too cold to work Claude, Mamie came over. Jackie and I were supposed to go out to a show but she got through work too late. We went to the lounge and home and I stayed all night again with Jackie. Feb. 1, Got up at 5:30 this morning. Went to lounge after show and told Jackie that I was taking Jean out tomorrow night. Made her very unhappy. She got home about 9:30 P.M. May 31, Jackie and I went to the Clyde Beatty Circus.\"His entries include a wild night along the way where he slept with Jackie and another woman, Millie, who got in bed with them. He is one wild, party loving, fun loving, woman loving guy.

On October 25, he and Jackie go on vacation to California and he goes into great detail about the places they visited and the things they saw: \"Jackie and I left for Frisco about 3:30 AM. today. Stopped and saw Shasta Dam. Ate lunch at Prospect City and got into Frisco about 7 P.M. Stayed at the Manx Hotel. Went to top of Marfinocheos and ate at Fishermans Wharf. Got up and went to see about Seaman\'s Papers. Got tickets for Pro game. Then we went to see the Rainier Brewery, and then went to a show. Paid $1.10 to see American In Paris. No good. Oct. 27, Got up and breakfast and then went over to Berkeley to see O.S.C. play V. of California - they beat us 35 to 14. Came back after game and went to dinner on Market Street. Oct. 28, Got up early and went to the zoo. Then over to Kezar Stadium to see Los Angeles Rams play the San Francisco 49\'ers. First Pro game I ever saw. 49ers beat the L.A. Rams Oct. 29, Left San Francisco early and it was foggy going across the Golden Gate. Stopped at Petrified Forest, sure was a rook! Stopped at Asti to see the Italian Swiss Colony Winery. Sure is a nice place. Stayed most of the afternoon and drank wine. Went from there over to Fort Bragg on the coast and stayed there over night. Oct. 30, Drove down to the docks and took off up the coast. Sure is rough country. Came back over 101 and ate lunch along the road. etc. At the end of this diary Jackie has packed up everything and gone off to Alaska. Our writer continues to go out bounding and drinking, however by the last few pages he is missing Jackie and wondering why he does not get a letter from her. He finally gets a letter and asks when she is coming back home to him, she replies soon.\"Just this one year, 1951, of this man\'s life could make a great book.
