A superb original vintage 1950s gal\'s prom cocktail full flowing dress in a gorgeous shade of dark robins egg blue. Created with 3 layers of fabric including the inner tulle very full skirt which is so perfect for dancing the night away. Of course, the outer layer is sheer georgette / chiffon while the middle layer is typical satin like lining fabric that is a luscious shade of light plum. Wonderfully adorned with satin soutache piping around the cummerbund style waistline and the armholes. A nipped waistline, the very full skirt, and the Greek Goddess style panels in the back are all is quite figure flattering. The closure is a well working back metal zipper. There is a small tag, sold by Sears. Approx measurements are taken closed, laying flat and across; 19.5\" underarm to underarm, 15\" waist, 16.5\" mid shoulder to waist and waist to hem is 29.5\". I believe this awesome dress is in very very good very clean condition, as I have not been able to find any flaws. I knew the woman who wore it to her prom in 1952 and she took care of everything she ever owned, it has been in storage with acid free paper since the mid 1970s in a box under her bed. She was married to fella with whom she attended the prom of course, she treasured this lovely dress!
