ORIGINAL WW2 M-1 CARBINE STOCK THAT WAS TURNED INTO TOY GUN BY EMERGENCY EQUIP:
$45.00

Here is a neat and scarce item, what was an original WW2 M-1 Carbine stock that was rejected by an inspector then turned into a toy gun by the Grand Rapids Emergency Equipment Co. I found 4 references to this gun in various Carbine forums, there appear to be 2 styles, guns like this one that was rejected after the mag/trigger/receiver/barrel and buttplate milling had been done but the oiler slot was never cut, this style has a \"clicker\" which has a star trigger pinned into the stock then a thin veneer overlay is screwed into the stock above the mag well that rests on the arm of the star trigger (the other style has a dummy magazine but does not \"fire\"). As the trigger is pulled the arm lifts the wood until it slips off hitting the stock with a loud slap and the next trigger arm drops down to be pulled. The receiver is round stock with a milled slot in the middle which a bored wood dowel barrel is attached to and painted black. Looks like the edge of the high edge of the relief cut for the buttplate was knocked down with a belt sander. Wood was finished and then on the stock side is rubber stamped in gold is GENUINE ARMY REJECT CARBINE STOCK, on the pistol grip bottom is stamped PAT. PEND. EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT CO. GRAND RAPIDS MICHIGAN. Marlin Arms made a similar \"carbine\" after the war with surplus stocks but this is a different Carbine Gun shows some wear and scratches, kid lightly scratched his initials on the butt side. Speculation is that it was a war time toy or a post war toy. Checking (Grand Rapids is 40 miles away) I feel this is a wartime toy-there was never a company in Grand Rapids called Emergency Equipment Co., I think this was a small garage/wood shop operation by a couple of guys in G.R. that could get rejected stocks (Irwins in GR or Overtons in South Haven all close) and made the toy Carbine (there was money to spend and a big demand for toys during the war) and sold them regionally. Neat M-1 variant and very rare for a Carbine guy or neat war toy. Buyer pays a fixed shipping cost of $10.00
