This is a WW2 Wittnauer Army & Air Force issued nickel plated pocket compass. Wittnauer was the Swiss Company Longines agent for compass manufacture and distribution for WW2. This compass is in good overall condition. Case has small dent in lid, which snaps closed with a strong hinge opening to 90 degrees. It has a clean dial. Needle has jeweled bearing, is flat, blue, with some oxidation on tips. It rotates easily and finds North with no problem. Nice American made pocket compass. Thanks for looking! :)
