RARE ANTIQUE 18th C 1770\'s FLAME STITCH EMBROIDERY WALLET POCKET BOOK
This offering is for an original antique flame stitch embroidery mans wallet or pocket book. The wallet dates to the third quarter of the 18th century, probably about the 1770\'s. The pocket book is a simple bi fold and it measures app. 3 3/4\" by 6\" when closed and 6\" by 7½\" when closed. The wallet features a silk interior with three center pockets and one end pocket. The condition is simply outstanding. There is minor wear and loss to the stitching along the two leading edges and a bit more loss along the spine, all of which is shown in our close-up photo\'s both above and below. There is also a small 1/4\" diameter stain spot on one side and one small 3\" long section where the silk lining has come unsewn. Overall the condition is without a doubt in the upper 10% of any you will be fortunate enough to find. The colors are wonderful in greens, golds, off white, pinks and light red. The wallet displays beautifully and will make an excellent addition to only one collection, shouldn\'t it be yours!!!
