Beautiful and very old rose coloured 9 carat gold ring. Hallmarked for 1800\'s Chester. The hallmarks are quite faded in places but still just about readable.
Ring is a size M and graduated from a thick to slightly thinner. I would imagine at some point in its very long life it was made larger and in order to do that it was made slightly thinner on one side but this is a guess. It is an old item and has multiple signs of long use and wear. It is off round.
Hallmarks are what looks to be E. V - makers mark. The three towers for Chester 9.375 and what appears to be an old italic I or an L. This dates to either 1827/1828, 1872/1873 or 1892/1893. I am no expert but have several books for reference.
This ring has a whole load of history about it. Feels special and could still be worn. .
