This exquisite little spinning top is made from a coconut shell and incised on the inside of curve. To use it a small wood stick is inserted in the central hole and rolledrapidly between the palms of the user\'s hands, setting it spinning, and launching itsimultaneouslyonto the ground . For theAbeam tribes, the spinning magically drives the bad spirits away.
A beautiful glossy chocolate patina to the outside of the shell attests to plenty of usage. Statically, it is a lovelydiminutiveartefact with impressive Abelam geometric scrolls and a wreath-like circle.
Diameter of the disc is 8.5 cm. (3.25\").
