For sale a good old Micronesian \'tobi\' figure as they have also been called. This piece dates back from at least the Japanese era. It has the nice shell eyes with blackresin pupils, well carved and nice patine. This particular figurehas a good provenance; good dealer (can provide orgininal invoice to buyer) and originating from Leo Fortess; see the label and compare his particular writing (can provide comparisson for assurance). Leo Fortess traveled to many destinations/islands in Polynesia with his Schooner starting in 1940 and gathered an important collection during his lifetime.Estimated x7.5cm
