striking rare old pawn Zuni, Hopi, or Navajo belt buckle is not signed
(most of the pre-1970 Native American jewelry was not signed), and unmarked for the silver content but professionally acid tested positive as sterling silver.The skillfully crafted butterfly shaped buckle has a superb silver and inlay work. Inlaid with
dark green jade (from Alaska), coral, and fossilized mastodon or marine .The buckle was purchased by the previous owner at a pawn shop in NM prior to 1970.The buckle has the name \"elk\" scratched on the back (see picture), probably when pawned to identify the owner.The buckle is in a very good condition and all the stones are secure.
For further details please enlarge and examine all 11 pictures closely.The buckle weighs a sturdy 64.7 grams and measures 3-1/8\" wide x 2-1/2\" tall.
