  • This is a prohibition era circa 1920-1928 photo that was taken for an advertising campaign for Fox Shoes of a long legged sexy model who appears to be Eileen Percy sitting atop a vintage/old/antique Art Deco style Indian Motorcycle
  • Art Deco was the prevalent style in the 20\'s everything from buildings to jewelry was influenced by it, and Indian Motorcycles were no exception
  • You can tell she was part of the flapper style of the day because of the rolled down stockings, pumps, and her bare legs she is showing off
  • The photo was taken by Charles Gates Sheldon who actually had an art studio inside Carnegie Hall in NYC during the 1920\'s and 1930\'s
  • Sheldon primarily worked with pastels and paintings
  • He did designs for lingerie companies, Fox Shoes, and movie magazine cover portraits
  • He also did work for Breck shampoo and is the creator of the \"Breck Girl\" advertising campaign
  • Stars who sat for Sheldon include: Jean Harlow, Clara Bow, Marion Davies, Gloria Swanson, Pola Negri, Olive Borden, Mary Pickford, and literally dozens of others
  • A really fascinating tidbit is he was actually just an \"amateur photographer\" these photos were only taken so that he could use them as a point of reference for his watercolor and painting work
  • Indian produced motorcycles from 1901-1953 in Springfield, Mass
  • The original Indian company went bankrupt in 1953
  • Polaris Industries bought the Indian Company in 2011. Manufacturing plants have been moved to MN and IA. Production of Indian Motorcycles have been underway since August 2013

Customer Service:

I am not in this for a \"fast buck.\"  I genuinely love history and I love the photographs I sell, every single one of them.

I realized a long time ago, I\'m not just selling \"photos.\"

I\'m selling joy, happiness, sadness, misery, nostalgia, admiration, appreciation, interest, love, hate, and every other human emotion that are depicted in these photos or the emotions they invoke in you and/or the people who look at them.

Most photos depict more than one or will invoke more than one of the above emotions in you and the viewers of your photo.

You want to be treated courteously and respectfully.  You want your item in the best possible condition in the fastest time possible.  You want a responsive seller when you have needs who can take care of you before and after a sale (someone who doesn\'t just \"disappear\" on you after you already gave them your money)

As a seller, I give my oath to you, that I will do my best to fulfill all of the above.

It may sound cliche, and cheesy but I genuinely appreciate you and everyone who spends their hard earned money with me.

It does not matter whether you spend $1 or $1 million dollars with me, you will be treated and cared for to the fullest extent of my ability.

This is my promise to you.

Because I will do all I can to help you, please let me know if there is anything wrong, before you leave negative response.
