Older Pair of Hopi Second Mesa Baskets

Dimensions:Both approximately6 highby 9.5\" wide

Circa:Late 19th / Early 20th Century

Condition: Good.Some wear in a number of areas as illustrated in pictures.

The first: Colorful second mesa with unusually finely made small coils having a half inch in diameter.For a Hopi, finely woven at 16 stitches per inch in one area in the field. Other wear and oneloop on on rim of basket detached.

The second also early, thick coil and earlier design patern
