CC-20, Plate C, Serial number439550. Designed by BenjaminFranklin in 1776.On the front of the billrepresenting Two Thirds of a Do1lar, “Fugio” emblem, with the sun(represented by a human face) shining upon a sundial. A smallerface, representing the moon, is near it. In the circle around thedial is the motto FUGIO\" I fly,\" applied to Time hence“Time Flies”. Under the dial is the excellent injunction, MINDYOUR BUSINESS, hence “Time flies, so mind your business”.

On the back, with the name andaddress of the printers (Hall and Sellers), is a chain in a circle ”an emblem of union ” composed of thirteen circular links, on eachof which is the name of a colony. In the center are the words WE AREONE, and around them AMERICAN CONGRESS.

There were about 20-30 individuals signing notes for each emission, therefore several notes have different signers. Newman has compiled a list of several hundred signers so there is a place to verify the reading of each signature.
