We are pleased to offer this pair of Philip Oriel sterling shell baskets.

Re-creations of a design by Paul de Lamerie.

More commonly found are caryatid handles. This set has lion handles.

Shell form gently undulating teardrop gadroon rim.

Thin panel fluting to the interior wall captures the natural light brilliantly.

Reclining lion atop handles. The handle rises from satin chased three fin body.

Atop spread fin curled serpent feet.

The centre pieces are 13 inches across and 9 1/2 tall and weigh 91 (standard) ounces.

Never monogrammed.

Hallmarked as shown.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Stands firm. Original detail.
