Original 1949 Smokey Bear forest fire prevention poster. This multi-colored poster features the famous fire fighter Smokey holding a fawn. With a raging forest fire in the background, his message is \"Our Most Shameful Waste\" and \"Remember, Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires\". The Ad Council is located at the bottom along with \"US Department of Agriculture Forest Service\" and \"Division of Protection, Pennsylvania Dept. Forests & Waters\". There appear to be two date codes \"50-CFFP-4\" and \"1949-O-8565564\". Issued by the U.S. Government Printing Office. This rare poster, like all the posters I have listed, is original and not a reprint. It has some bent corners, minor discoloration, small holes, small tears and foxing (deterioration spots caused by aging). From a private collection, spanning decades, these posters are in various stages of condition. Please see photos for further details. Additional photos are always available upon request.
