Cisco the Kid 2-19-51 23 x 7 1/4 (20 1/8 x 53/8) off white, Zip-a-tone in 2nd panel on man\'s vest and in the third panel on Cisco\'s hat. Overall in very good condition. Cisco Kid in all three panels. The amount of detail Salinas put into Cisco\'sshirt is amazing. Beautiful cowgirl in first panel, he drew women exceptionally well! Signed in the third panel.

JoseLuis Salinas(February 11th1908-January 10th 1985) wasborn in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After asuccessful time as an illustrator and comic artist in Argentina, he made hisway to New York City in 1949 and was hired on at King Features . \"I was assigned to thedepartment where did thethumbtacks, adaptations of the original strips for other magazines.clipped, pasted, completed drawings.tasks of a beginner. ..in my free time,I drew the boys who were in the artdepartment, especially the boss, they grabbed the drawings andtook them in, to the editor,one of the many bosses. Silvain Byck So,after two or three months to make thatwork I came suddenlyindication I should create the CiscoKid ...\" The Cisco Kid made its debut on 15 January1951. There was never a Sunday. He remained in the States until about 1953when he moved back to his home country of Argentina. From then on he wouldcorrespond back and forth with his writer, Rod Reed, and mail his artworkin. Rod Reed would later say this abouthis fellow collaborator ... \"Salinas was a dream to work with. The way he followed a script to capture action,facial expressions and authentic scenes and backgrounds was uncanny. And this was just short of miraculous whenyou consider his English was limited and stories had to be translated intoSpanish for him. (But) my esteem for the artist never Flagged and I lookedforward each week to seeing a new set of proofs with Joses live, vigorousdrawings. Sometimes I was so taken upwith the pictures that I admired them first before turning attention to my ownprose.\" The strip would run in syndication until August 10, 1968.

Jose Salinas artwork ranks up there with thebest of them; Hal Foster, Alex Raymond, Frank Godwin to name a few and afavorite of Al Williamson as well, this strip was actually was in Al Williamson\'s collection.

Artwork will be mailed flat in a mylar sleeve between two very sturdy pieces wood panels. Been dealing in artwork for over 15 years with no issues yet in sending/packaging artwork!
