Stunning16th Century Burgonet Helmet
Upfor sale from my own collection is a fine, German-made burgonet helmet, datingback to the second half of the 16th century. The helmet is made of one piecepolished skull. Extremely fine roping onthe roles. Brim and taillame formed of separate pieces and riveted to the skull. Original cheek plates with simple holedecoration and rivets. The helmet is of heavier weight and excellent quality.While it stems from a former armory (typical armory dots/markings on the inside of the brim) this isno/no munitions grade, low quality burgonet. It would show well on its own orwith the appropriate half suit of armor.Authenticity is guaranteed for this fairly priced piece of history which nowadays even exceeds the EUR 2,500- 3,000 (without the 25% commission) mark at many major European sale houses. Buyer has the right to inspect and return the item during a 14-day period (minus all shipping costs). Happy to send the helmet outside the U.S. as well.
