This is an original Civil War period patriotic envelope. It was printed for the Union supporters and has a Longfellow poem \"Thou, too, sail on, O Ship of State..\" It shows a tall masted ship in full sail. It has never been used and is in excellent condition. It is 5 & 1/2\" by 3 & 1/4: with an impressed hallmark in back on the flap. I am listing other patriotic envelopes from this period.
